FIRE! ANTI-JEWISH POGROM 1938
BERLIN, 2008
»Kristallnacht«, 70 Years Later
Nine cubes are positioned in a semicircle so that visitors can see nine burning synagogues all at once. A slit in each cube affords a view of the full series of photographs. The cubes are tipped; they seem about to fall: this symbolizes the danger to Jews living in Germany after the »Kristallnacht« pogrom of 1938.
